Frequently Asked Questions
FAQs
Why register on Have Your Say, Central Highlands?
Register if you would like to receive notifications about council projects that interest or affect you and your community. You may be invited to respond to a survey, participate in an online forum, or indicate your preference on a visual project.
Why is council requesting feedback online?
Online engagement complements the traditional face-to-face consultations methods already in place. Council holds annual community consultations across the region and quarterly Community Reference Group (CRG) meetings in each of the thirteen Central Highlands communities. The Have Your Say website is designed to make it easier for community members to provide feedback on a range of issues. The information gathered feeds directly into council’s decision-making process.
How are comments moderated?
Moderators do not edit or alter any comments and will only remove
comments deemed to be significantly off topic, offensive or malicious. The
contributor will be advised of comments that have been removed and the reasons
explained. If your comment is moderated you will have the opportunity to alter
your comment and repost. Refer to the Moderation Policy for
more information.
Is my privacy protected?
Yes. Your privacy is protected. Central Highlands Regional Council will
only use the information you provide to email updates on existing consultations, and invite
you to participate in new projects, which relate to the interests you have
specified. You can unsubscribe from email updates at any time. Your personal
information will not be released publicly or used for any other purpose. More
information is available in the Privacy Policy.
What happens after I provide feedback?
All comments, ideas and suggestions given online, or face-to-face, are collated and used to inform council's decision-making processes. Project
updates will be published on the website, so that community members can view the outcomes of the consultation process.
