Community Consultation - Road names for new Ridge Estate

Community Consultation: Proposed Road Names for Ridge Estate, Emerald

Central Highlands Regional Council is seeking community feedback on proposed road names for new roads within the Ridge Estate development, located off Pilot Farm Road in Emerald.

Under the Local Government Act 2009 (Qld), Council is responsible for assigning and approving road names within the region. Following a review process, the proposed names have been assessed as meeting the relevant naming requirements.

The proposed road names are:

• Gene Slack Drive
• Magpie Drive
• Hawks Drive

Council is inviting residents and interested community members to provide feedback on the proposed names, including:

• Any objections to the proposed road names
• Concerns regarding pronunciation, spelling, or potential misinterpretation
• Whether the names reflect the character of the surrounding area
• Suggestions for alternative road names
• Overall support for the proposed names

Community consultation will be open for one month from the date of publication. All feedback received during this period will be considered before a final decision is made.

We encourage all interested residents to share their views and help shape the identity of this new Emerald neighbourhood.
