Cover page of the draft corporate plan

The Corporate Plan 2022-2027 was endorsed by council in June 2022. This document can be found on the right hand side of the page, or at the bottom of the page on a mobile device.

The Central Highlands region is considered a gateway to the outback and is home to around 29,000 people, who live in the 13 communities of Arcadia Valley, Bauhinia, Blackwater, Bluff, Capella, Comet, Dingo, Duaringa, Emerald, Rolleston, the Sapphire Gemfields, Springsure and Tieri.

In order to plan for the future, it is important that council has a corporate plan.

It provides the focus for how we will invest in infrastructure and guides how we prioritise and deliver programs and services in the short, medium and long term.

It is council’s main planning tool, providing the basis from which specific council strategies, plans and policies are developed.

The corporate plan spans five financial years and strongly influences how council makes decisions about the annual budget and operational plan

With council’s existing Corporate Plan 2017-2022 due to expire in June 2022, council commenced the process of developing its new five-year corporate plan last year.

This involved a series of engagements, surveys and workshops, online and face to face, as well as surveys, with community members, stakeholders, councillors and council staff to inform the new plan’s vision, strategic direction and content. These were conducted by external consultant Rowland.

As a result, and shaped by the feedback and input received, council has prepared the draft Central Highlands Regional Council Corporate Plan 2022-2027.

Council is now seeking community feedback on this plan.
