The program or activity I would like to see in the arts, cultural and heritage scene is ( ? )
almost 6 years agoCLOSED: This brainstorm has concluded.Kim Tompsonalmost 6 years agoCrazy Art Space
Once a year have a week long facilitated art project that is fully funded, free to participate in and open to all. Each year would be a different medium and, although there would be guidelines, people could add to the massive art piece as little, or as much, as they would like to. The art piece would stay on display until the next year, when it would then be auctioned as the next project begins.

7Kim Tompsonalmost 6 years agoCollaborative Exhibitions
I'd love to see more collaborative exhibitions in our Art Gallery and other public spaces. A subject relevant to the Central Highlands, be it a person, a place or an event in time, is chosen. Then a group of locals are commissioned to tell that story. A photographer, a historian, a number of artists (paint, mosaic, clay, abstract material), a number of actors, and a communications team to create a presentation (screening) to the public at the Town Hall. The static exhibition could then be displayed at the Art Gallery for a prescribed time and the art pieces be sold or auctioned for charity.
5Kim Tompsonalmost 6 years agoRecycled Art for Public Spaces
Intergenerational workshops to turn recycled materials into art. Educate all ages how to be better at recycling for a greener future. Could involve businesses and schools. Pieces could be installed during the week of the proposed Festival of Arts.
7Rosalmost 6 years agoMusic in the park
Host and promote a series of concerts throughout the year at the Botanical Gardens or at a suitable indoor facility, where different local artists and bands can showcase their talents.
