Consultation has concluded
In March 2020, Central Highlands Regional Council requested feedback on the Draft Local Government Stock Route Network (SRN) Management Plan 2020-2025. The purpose of the SRN Management Plan is to:
Improve and sustainably manage the use of the Stock Route Network within council’s boundary.
Provide for compatible alternative uses, so that the impacts of stock on the network’s resources, users and values are minimised.
Minimise the impacts from other users of the network on travelling stock.
Where appropriate with relevant legislation, stakeholder feedback would be considered for inclusion in council's updated SRN Management Plan 2020-2025.
The draft document was not substantially different from the current plan, featuring some formatting changes and minor edits. Stakeholders were invited to review the draft and submit feedback using the online form or at the Rural Services Meeting held in Emerald on Friday 20 March 2020.
In April 2020, the SRN Management Plan was renewed. To view the updated plan and for more information about stock route management in the Central Highlands, visit council's resource page here.
