Reconciliation Action Plan

The Central Highlands Regional Council are developing a Reconciliation Action Plan.

The purpose of this Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is to guide council's reconciliation journey. Our RAP will use a framework endorsed by Reconciliation Australia, and will support our organisation in achieving the following objectives:

  • Actively support and strengthen understanding of reconciliation within our organisation and throughout our communities.
  • Find meaningful ways to increase trust, reduce prejudice, and strengthen relationships between the Central Highland community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Support equity in the Central Highlands workforce.
  • Demonstrate an inclusive, supportive and appreciative attitude toward Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and contributions to our community.

Council welcomes all community members to share their views on what should be included in our Reconciliation Action Plan.
