In August 2018, council requested feedback from the community to inform our organisation's Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). The purpose of council's RAP is to guide our reconciliation journey.

Council would like to thank everyone who shared their thoughts and ideas about what this action plan should include. In August 2020, Reconciliation Australia endorsed council's RAP for the 2020 - 2021 financial year.

Click here to view the endorsed RAP. This action plan will guide our organisation in achieving the following objectives:

  • Actively support and strengthen understanding of reconciliation within our organisation and throughout our communities.
  • Find meaningful ways to increase trust, reduce prejudice, and strengthen relationships between the Central Highland community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Support equity in the Central Highlands workforce.
  • Demonstrate an inclusive, supportive and appreciative attitude toward Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and contributions to our community.
