Consultation has concluded

Thank you to everyone who shared their ideas and provided feedback on the draft designs for the Bauhinia, Bluff, Duaringa, Gindie and Tieri town entrance signs.

Summary of revisions:

Bauhinia

  • The polocrosse player is now shown with a racket, instead of a mallet.
  • The Bauhinia flower has more detail.
  • The number of eagles was reduced and given more detail.
  • A windmill was included.

Bluff

  • The Bluff Rabbitohs are included.
  • Bluff’s racing history is included.
  • A dragline was added and then changed to a cart.

Duaringa

  • The cow near the helicopter was straightened.
  • The river was redesigned.
  • Cropping was added.
  • The circles were removed from the centre panel.
  • The rail line on the left panel was curved downward and the plant above was reoriented.
  • The cultivation lines below the rail line on the right panel were removed and replaced with wheat.

Gindie

  • The cattle breed changed and horns were removed.
  • The river-like swirl was removed and replaced with cropping design.

Tieri

  • Respondents were happy with the initial draft.


What's Next?

The steel signs (as shown in the Blackwater example) will now be fabricated and installed. Keep an eye on council's Facebook page and e-news bulletin for updates as works progress.
