Central Highlands Regional Council is seeking the community's assistance to prevent illegal dumping and littering in our region. Although the majority of us do the right thing, a small minority dump their waste illegally. This behaviour has environmental, social and financial costs for everyone in the community.
We all have a right to a clean, safe place to live, work and play.
Council is committed to taking action against illegal dumping and littering in the Central Highlands. In March 2020, council was awarded a $60,000 Local Government Illegal Dumping Hotspot Grant. This state government funding will enable council to:
implement prevention and intervention programs
target illegal dumping hotspots
undertake data collection to identify illegal dumping trends
To help council better understand and prevent illegal dumping, residents are invited to complete the survey below.
Complete the survey and go in the draw to win one of three $50 Eftpos giftcards!
Prize winners will be drawn on 3 July 2020.
For enquiries: Please contact the Coordinator Environment & Waste on 1300 242 686 or enquiries@chrc.qld.gov.au. For more information about illegal dumping and littering, please see the frequently asked questions.
Accessibility: This survey is available in alternative formats on request. To download a printable copy of the survey, click here. If you need assistance or would prefer to complete the survey by telephone, please contact council's engagement team on 1300 242 686.
