This stage of consultation has concluded.
Central Highlands Regional Council is in the early stages of planning for the redevelopment of Blackwater's old Aquatic Centre in MacKenzie Street, Blackwater.
This project is part of the Blackwater old Aquatic Centre Master Plan development to re-design the space encompassing the old aquatic centre, council offices, library, Lions Park and adjacent open space.
In November 2018, community members were invited to provide feedback on a draft conceptual plan and what should be included to meet community need and recognise historical or cultural significance.
An engagement was also conducted separately on the proposed new Blackwater library facility.
All feedback received was considered in a draft masterplan presented to council in November 2019. In July 2020, the masterplan was endorsed for delivery over multiple stages, commencing in the 2020-2021 financial year.
