Consultation has concluded
In June, Central Highlands Regional Council conducted a survey on waste facility opening hours. Council has reviewed the feedback to determine which operating hours and days are suitable for each community.
As a result of these survey findings and advocacy from the community reference groups, two staff have been recruited on a year-long contract to increase opening hours at these facilitates where possible. Council is also developing a waste strategy to improve waste management across the region. The draft strategy is expected to be developed by 31 December 2021.
