Consultation has concluded

In March 2021, the Ranger Services team at Central Highlands Regional Council held a survey to ensure that responsible animal management is understood by the communities across the region and to give the public a platform to give feedback on Ranger Services operations.

Thank you to everyone who gave feedback through this survey. Central Highlands Regional Council received 144 responses.

After reviewing the results of the survey, the Ranger Services team identified the need for greater education about responsible animal management, and to be easily identifiable by the public.

To achieve this they will:

  1. Run a promotional campaign to increase community awareness on responsible animal management. This will include videos on wandering animal captures, what happens when an animal is surrendered, the importance of microchipping, and how Ranger Services work with CQ Pet Rescue
  2. Update the appearance of the Ranger Services vehicles with some animated decals so they can be easily identified by the public. See the right-hand side of the page for a photo of the updated vehicles.

The educational videos and photos of the updated Ranger Services vehicles will be shared on this page as they are announced.

For enquiries, please contact council's Ranger Services on 1300 242 686.
