We're thrilled to share some exciting news with you!

The Youth Development Team has successfully secured Council endorsement for the much-anticipated Youth Development Strategic Action Plan 2024-2028. This comprehensive document outlines our collective vision and commitment to empowering and supporting the youth in our community.

We invite you to read through the endorsed plan, which can be accessed here. Your insights, input, and collaboration have played a crucial role in shaping this roadmap for the next four years, and we are eager to embark on this journey together.

The Youth Development Strategic Action Plan 2024-2028 will officially come into effect on January 1, 2024

Thank you for your ongoing support and dedication to the youth in our community. Let's continue working towards a future where every young person can thrive and reach their full potential.

Central Highlands Regional Council is seeking input from stakeholders including youth, service providers, and the broader community to develop the Central Highlands Youth Strategy and Action Plan 2023-2028.

We want to hear about the types of issues affecting youth, and hear your suggestions to make Central Highlands an even better place for young people.

Your feedback will be used to develop the Central Highlands Youth Strategy and Action Plan 2023 – 2028.

The youth strategy will:

  • Outline the programs, events and initiatives Central Highlands Regional Council will provide to enhance the wellbeing and empowerment of youth
  • List council's partnerships with key agencies, organisations and stakeholders to lead, facilitate and/or fund the delivery of youth initiatives in the region
  • Identify how youth, partners and councillors will be consulted during the delivery of the strategy’s objectives
  • Express council’s commitment to youth development in the Central Highlands region

Please note that council recognises ‘youth’ to be the ages of 12 to 25.
